Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 3 <br /> May 4, 1998 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Ap1moval and Execution f Ro= 151 and Old Barnst 1 R <br /> Sianalization Agreement: <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public Works was present to request the Board <br /> approve and execute the Agreement between the Town of Mashpee <br /> and Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide signalization at the intersection <br /> of Route 151 and Old Barnstable Road. <br /> As noted,the Mashpee Department of Public Works through Chapter 90 <br /> road funds will pay the sum of$29,700 to provide interconnection between <br /> the above two adjacent signals. <br /> The Commonwealth will contribute the remaining contract for the signal in the <br /> amount of$279,706.45. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to approve and execute the <br /> Agreement between the Town of Mashpee and Commonwealth of <br /> Massachusetts for Signalization at the Intersection of Route 151 <br /> and Old Barnstable Road. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> VOT_> : Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> i <br /> Menigrandurn fwm thealth AggntM 7 Fox Hill Road D in <br /> Correspondence was received from Board of Health Agent, Elias McQuaid <br /> dated May 5, 1998 relative to the significant safety hazard in the undeveloped <br /> portion of the Fox Hill subdivision located off South Sandwich Road. <br /> Mr. Taylor indicated that there are approximately twelve open drain pits <br /> without drain covers in the area of discussion. The pits range in depths to <br /> six feet. It presents a safety hazard to neighborhood children playing in the <br /> vicinity of the open pits informed Mr. Taylor,Director of Public Works. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to conduct a site visit, and obtain an opinion <br /> from the Planning Board's Engineer relative to this concern. *Agenda item. <br />
