Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 11 <br /> May 18, 1998 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> R Request for the Placement f Three Signsm <br /> Sheldon Hamblin was present on behalf of the Rotary Club of Mashpee <br /> to request the Board approve the installation of(3)Rotary signs on the <br /> streets of Mashpee with the Rotary International insignia, and designated <br /> meeting time and location. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the signage request <br /> of the Mashpee Rotary. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Proclamation for Citizen of the Year: <br /> Mr. Whritenour read aloud the proclamation designating May 19, 1998 <br /> as James Vaccaro Day in appreciation to Mr. Vaccaro for his dedicated service <br /> to the citizens and community of the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to accept the proclamation as <br /> presented, and proclaim May 19, 1998 as James Vaccaro Day. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Vote to Ratify Fire Chief s Contra_p <br /> The Board reviewed the agreement between the Town of Mashpee and <br /> George Baker, Jr. Fire Chief. Selectman Caffyn indicated that she is <br /> opposed to the 5.8% increase. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to vote to ratify the contract <br /> of Fire Chief George Baker,Jr. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: 3-2. Motion carries. <br /> Selectman Taylor, Selectman Caffyn in opposition. <br />
