Board of Selectmen Minutes June 22, 1998 Present: Selectman Marsters, Selectman Frye, Selectman Taylor, Selectman Caffyn, Selectman Leveille Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour Assistant to the Executive Secretary Joyce Mason Meeting Called to Qrder by Chairman Marsters at 6:30 p.m. Town Hall,Meeting Room#1. COMMUNICATION AND CORRES2QNDENCE: ComspQridence from Mashme Water District re: MMR Well: The Board received correspondence from Diane Rommelmeyer, Chairman of the Mashpee Board of Water Commissioners dated June 15, 1998 in request of a letter of support from the Board of Selectmen in endeavors to obtain new well site permitting and approval. It was noted that the Mashpee Water District has been providing water to the base since their drinking water has tested positive for contaminants. This is also the same well the District has planned to use as a source of water during peak summer periods. It is critical that all officials work together to obtain permits to bring the Holland Mills and Turner Road wells on-line as soon as possible. It is the consensus of the Board to send a letter of support as requested, and attend the next scheduled meeting of the Water District on July 21, 1998. Bill Fisher,Environmental Consultant will be present to discuss the sentinel well program at 6:30 p.m. APPOINTMENTS AND HEARRiQ& Media_One: Mary O'Keeffe,Manager of Government Affairs and Douglas Guthrie, Marketing Director of Media One were present to discuss the re-marketing process and proposal with members of the Board and interested public. Media One has planned to re-align Mashpec's cable channel line up effective July 6, 1998. New and popular programming will be added to the standard ' service line-up. Several new channels include, The History Channel,Bravo, Comedy Central, Classic Sports and the TV Food Network.
