Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 22, 1998 <br /> Present: Selectman Marsters, Selectman Frye, Selectman Taylor, <br /> Selectman Caffyn, Selectman Leveille <br /> Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br /> Assistant to the Executive Secretary Joyce Mason <br /> Meeting Called to Qrder by Chairman Marsters at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Town Hall,Meeting Room#1. <br /> COMMUNICATION AND CORRES2QNDENCE: <br /> ComspQridence from Mashme Water District re: MMR Well: <br /> The Board received correspondence from Diane Rommelmeyer, Chairman <br /> of the Mashpee Board of Water Commissioners dated June 15, 1998 in <br /> request of a letter of support from the Board of Selectmen in endeavors to <br /> obtain new well site permitting and approval. <br /> It was noted that the Mashpee Water District has been providing water to <br /> the base since their drinking water has tested positive for contaminants. This <br /> is also the same well the District has planned to use as a source of water during <br /> peak summer periods. <br /> It is critical that all officials work together to obtain permits to bring the Holland <br /> Mills and Turner Road wells on-line as soon as possible. It is the consensus of <br /> the Board to send a letter of support as requested, and attend the next scheduled <br /> meeting of the Water District on July 21, 1998. Bill Fisher,Environmental <br /> Consultant will be present to discuss the sentinel well program at 6:30 p.m. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARRiQ& <br /> Media_One: <br /> Mary O'Keeffe,Manager of Government Affairs and Douglas Guthrie, <br /> Marketing Director of Media One were present to discuss the re-marketing <br /> process and proposal with members of the Board and interested public. <br /> Media One has planned to re-align Mashpec's cable channel line up effective <br /> July 6, 1998. New and popular programming will be added to the standard <br /> ' service line-up. Several new channels include, The History Channel,Bravo, <br /> Comedy Central, Classic Sports and the TV Food Network. <br />
