Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 3 <br /> June 22, 1998 <br /> A C <br /> Prnclamation Approval: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the proclamation in <br /> recognition of General Walter E.Boomer,Commanding General of the <br /> U.S.Marines Central Command and First Expeditionary Force during <br /> operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Traffic Signalization: Old Barnstable Road and Route_151: <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public Works indicated that a pre-construction meeting <br /> is scheduled on July 15, 1998 to review the signalization proposed for the <br /> intersection of Old Barnstable Road and Route 151 in the area of the high school. <br /> The Board recommended that Mr. Taylor urge immediate action,and emphasize <br /> traffic and safety concerns on behalf of the Town and Board of Selectmen. <br /> C, Talanian -Route 28 Pr=psal: <br /> Charles Talanian and Don Megathlin were present to address the Board and <br /> solicit comments on the proposed retail development and mini golf course to be <br /> located on the site of the present Flea Market on Route 28 in Mashpee. <br /> Mr. Talanian indicated that plans are in the preliminary stage. A full application <br /> is expected to be presented to the Selectmen in September of this year. <br /> Additional analysis relative to fiscal impacts and water resources have not been <br /> completed to date. <br /> A compact village style plan that is a pleasant place to relax and enjoy retail <br /> shopping, mini golf, a food court and restaurant is envisioned as part of the <br /> "neighborhood"outlet shopping center. Mr. Megathlin reviewed the site <br /> development, landscaping plan and open space proposal with the Selectmen. <br /> It was noted that approximately ten acres will be dedicated to open space. In <br /> addition, buffer zones will be developed along Donna's Lane and Great Neck Rd. <br />
