Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 4 <br /> July 20, 1998 <br /> NEW BUS1NlJ <br /> Rg,quest for a One Day Liquor License: <br /> The Parish of Christ the King presented a memo to the Board dated <br /> July 16, 1998 requesting approval to host the Ninth Annual Mashpee <br /> Chamber of Commerce Las Vegas Night on Friday, July 31, 1998 from <br /> 8:00 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. <br /> The Men's Club of the Parish will be sponsoring a cash bar. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the One Day Liquor <br /> License request of the Parish of Christ the King on Friday, July 31, 1998. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> APPOIlVTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Community Development coordinator re: FY 1998 ApplicatiQlai <br /> Cynthia Sturges,the Community Development Coordinator was present to <br /> discuss the fiscal year 1998 Small Cities Grant application with members of the <br /> Board of Selectmen and interested public. <br /> Presently under consideration for inclusion in the multi-purpose Community <br /> Development Fund application is the renovation and expansion of the <br /> Heritage Park recreation building and the establishment of a public substance <br /> abuse program in the Town of Mashpee informed Ms. Sturges. <br /> The objective of the above named projects will provide benefit to persons of <br /> low and moderate incomes. A minimum of 51% utilization of the recreation <br /> building and substance abuse program will be by persons of low and moderate <br /> incomes. <br /> It was noted that the recreation building renovation project would house <br /> ninety children, and allow the Leisure Services Department to operate additional <br /> youth programs. Additional components include; a pre-school room, library, <br /> arts & crafts, and science room. <br />
