The Selectmen
received information relative to the status report dated July 22, 1998 and
August 24, 1998..
The objective of the analysis was to determine the effect of several
dredging scenarios on tidal flushing. The proposal revolved around a five
segment channel, 50 feet wide, and 3 feet deep at mean low water.
Mr. Hanks reviewed the location of the channel as depicted in segments
A through E. It was noted that there are no boats moored or clocked beyond
the point of segment D-1.
The Waterways Commission has recommended the Board apply for permits
to dredge segments A, B, C and D-1 for navigational purposes. Alternate
methods of dredge material disposal are presently being investigated by the
committee.
