(continued) <br /> Mr. Taylor requested the Selectmen forward a letter to the MHD in <br /> support of the pedestrian sidewalk as proposed. All work is within the <br /> layout of Route 28. The total cost will be absorbed by the Massachusetts <br /> Highway Department using state funds. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to send a letter of support to the <br /> Massachusetts Highway Department for the Route 28 pedestrian <br /> sidewalk as proposed. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to send a letter of appreciation to <br /> Representative Tom Cahir for his efforts to obtain funding for the <br /> above referenced project. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> In other business, Mr. Taylor announced that construction has begun on <br /> Route 151 and Old Barnstable Road to begin the signalization project. <br /> CM&I&CATIM AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Letter of Interest - Capg Cod Commission R r n tiv <br /> The Board received a letter of interest regarding appointment to the <br /> Cape Cod Commission as the Town of Mashpee's representative. <br /> Agenda topic, next scheduled meeting. <br /> LQar,,IQ Military on behalf of Board of Selectmen: <br /> Selectman Marsters requested that Mr. Whritenour, Executive Secretary <br /> draft a memo of request to the Military to seek alternate routes of travel. <br /> It was noted that the Mashpee Board met with the Falmouth Board of Selectmen <br /> to discuss area concerns on August 3, 1998. The letter is expected to precede <br /> the Town of Falmouth's letter of concern. <br />
