Marsters, Chairman
Mashpee Board of Selectmen
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
Re: Abdul H. Maja d/b/a Mashpee Country Store
Application for Package Store
Dear Mr. Marsters:
As Trustee of Correira Realty Trust which owns the land abutting Mr. Maja's Mashpee
Country Store and President of Falmouth Donuts, Inc., please accept this letter as a formal
objection to the application for a package store by Mr. Maja.
As you are aware, my company will begin construction of a Dunkin Donuts in the fall. During
my application process, I presented detailed plans which show substantial improvements to
both the area and Route 130. The Dunkin Donuts I plan on building at considerable expense
will be a family restaurant. I do not believe the addition of a package store will be an
improvement to the area and in the long run will have an adverse affect. The location of Mr.
Maja's store will significantly increase traffic which can only hurt my business. I do not
believe Mr. Maja has the parking or the proper set up for an orderly egress to support a liquor
store and a convenience store.
I remind you, at my expense, I have agreed to specific improvements to Route 130 to alleviate
traffic congestion: What Mr.-Maja is proposing to.ua is essentially )perate .two.businesses
from one location. Clearly, this-not only will adversely affect my business, but will negatively
affect the area as well.
In conclusion, I request that you deny his application for the package store.
Very truly yours,
Amancio Correia l
President, Falmouth Donuts, Inc.
Trustee, Correia Realty Trust
