Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 8, 1998 <br /> Golf Really i rs <br /> Mr. Bates indicated that the golf course facility would eliminate <br /> private residential development that might occur on the property. <br /> 1 Additional benefits to the Town include; the protection of open space, <br /> reduced service costs for additional residential development,the quality <br /> of life enhancement to the residents of Mashpee through increased recreational <br /> amenities, and a self supporting economic asset for the Town. <br /> Golf Realty Advisors recommended that all new golf course development focus <br /> on high quality design,top quality course conditions and excellent customer <br /> service. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the analysis of the local economy and <br /> related aspects of the subject proposal. <br /> Mr. Bates indicated that he will be available to assist with public presentations <br /> prior to and formally at Town Meeting. This would allow the project to move <br /> forward into high gear in the event the residents determine that a golf course <br /> is a desirable development strategy for the property. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to schedule a Public Hearing on the golf course <br /> development proposal on Tuesday, September 22, 1998. The hearing will be <br /> scheduled at 7:00 p.m. in conference room#1 at the Mashpee Town Hall. <br /> Motion made by Selectman LeveilIe to approve the site assessment <br /> analysis for routing and environmental conditions as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> WIE Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Selectman Caffyn left the meeting: 4:30 p.m. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to adjourn at 4:35 p.m. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VQTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> R`-es ectfuliy submitted, <br /> . <br /> Kathleen M.
