l <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 5 <br /> September 22, 1998 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing: Golf&alty Advisors,Inca (continued) <br /> Kenneth Anderson requested information to the break even point <br /> 4 of the proposed golf course facility in addition to water consumption estimates. <br /> When asked of the return on the investment, Mr. Bates indicated <br /> that he has projected$160,000 surplus dollars after debt services. <br /> By the fifth year, $240,000 is projected in available revenue funds. <br /> Gus Frederick requested information relative to zoning. Discussion followed <br /> with respect to potential residential development. <br /> David Palmer,Friends of the Mashpee Wildlife Refuge indicated that his <br /> organization is deeply concerned and opposed to such action. He complimented <br /> the Selectmen on trying to save one of the few substantial lands left in Mashpee. <br /> Mr. Palmer suggested the Board give great consideration to the quality of life <br /> of Mashpee and its citizens. <br /> A Wildlife Refuge as its original intent, will give us the ability to preserve <br /> valuable resources,protect the quality of life and create green tourism explained <br /> Mr. Palmer. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to schedule an additional public meeting prior <br /> to Town Meeting to further review the project proposal. <br /> Adjournment: 8:38 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Kathleen M.
