Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 3 <br /> September 28, 1998 <br /> AP-POfNTMENTS AND HE <br /> Maggie Dowrta re: Cape L' t Compact Energy Efficiency Plan: <br /> Selectman Marsters opened the Public Hearing on the Cape Light Compact <br /> Energy Efficiency Plan. Mr. Whritenour read aloud the Public Hearing notice <br /> as published. <br /> Maggie Downey and Scott Ridley were present to discuss the components <br /> of the Cape Light Compact Energy Efficiency Plan with the Selectmen and <br /> interested public. Joseph Dellagala,Mashpee's representative to the CLC was <br /> also present. <br /> Mr. Ridley reviewed the five year program designed to advance consumer <br /> awareness and participation in energy efficiency;similar to what the Cape and <br /> Island communities have accomplished with recycling solid waste. <br /> When properly formulated and implemented, energy efficiency at the community <br /> level presents opportunities for extensive local involvement that can result in <br /> increased benefits for individuals, communities and the region. <br /> The phase two process as outlined builds upon approved programs currently <br /> in use in Massachusetts and the region. Phase II will examine the potential for <br /> new innovations informed Mr. Ridley who noted that the program is expected to <br /> commence in the spring of 1999 and continue through the end of 2002. <br /> The Energy Efficient Plan includes residential, commercial and industrial <br /> programs to market and deliver the types of programs to address the unique <br /> interests and needs of the consumer. An overview of the plan is contained in <br /> the review copy of the Cape Light Compact Energy Efficiency Plan dated <br /> August 13, 1998. <br /> PUBLIC <br /> Robin Blakeman discussed her memo of September 28, 1998 to the Selectmen <br /> in concern for safety issues involving Sampsons Mill and Kings Grant Roads. <br /> The Board reviewed the issue with Ms. Blakeman. The Chief of Police and <br /> Director of Public Works will be consulted with respect to this regard. <br />
