Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 5 <br /> October 19, 1998 <br /> COMMUNICATION. AM CORRESPONDETICIE; <br /> Potential Land Donation: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Town Planner dated <br /> October 6, 1998 relative to an eighteen acre site located off <br /> Great Hay Road. The land is expected to be donated to the Town. <br /> It lies within the boundaries of the Wildlife Refuge. <br /> The Board has agreed to conduct a site visit. <br /> Selectman Marsters recommended the Board develop policy, and notify <br /> the Board of Health prior to the Selectmen's review and approval of future <br /> land donations to allow adequate input into the process. <br /> APPOINTMENTS.AND HEARINGS: <br /> E=I Swragg and Slom Druins; <br /> Colonel Shiver was present to discuss the September 22, 1998 fuel spill <br /> and related clean-up initiatives in addition to short and long range plans to <br /> prevent reoccurrence. <br /> Several handouts were presented to the Board and interested public. (enclosed) <br /> It was noted that the process has been reviewed and approved by DER <br /> The Board expressed concern with respect to timely notification and response. <br /> Colonel Shiver was directed to report to the Town on a quarterly basis. It was <br /> noted that funding is committed to re-design the stormwater runoff system to <br /> completely eliminate swale. The Board requested that regulatory agencies be <br /> allowed input into the process. <br />
