BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES - REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, MARCH 5, 1990 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> # 1 (Cont. ) <br /> Mr. Lawrence asked whether the School Committee felt <br /> strong engough about these cuts to go to Town Meeting and <br /> take serious cuts from other departments to do so. Dr. <br /> DeMoura stated that the $5,310,754 budget is not <br /> sufficient to provide quality education in Mashpee. <br /> 2 . SHELLFISH COMMISSION - REGULATIONS - A continuation of the <br /> Shellfish Regulation Hearing was held relative to non- <br /> criminal disposition. <br /> Mrs. Jacobson moved to adopt the modified version of the <br /> regulation as recommended by Town Counsel : "Any person(s) <br /> who violate(s) any prevision of the Mashpee Shellfish <br /> Regulations may be punished by a written warning or by a <br /> fine of fifty dollars ($50. 00) . - In the event of the <br /> imposition of a fine of fifty dollars, the provisions of <br /> Chapter 40, S ect lon 21 D, providing for the non-criminal <br /> disposition of violations shall be applicable as an <br /> alternative to criminal enforcement. " Mr. Hanson seconded <br /> the motion and Mr. Carter was in favor. Mr. Lawrence was <br /> opposed. <br /> 3 . ATTORNEY KIRRANE - Attorney Kevin Kirrane attended to <br /> further discuss the proposed raodway through the Town <br /> landfill . Mr. Kirrane indicated that the Board of Health <br /> and the Planning Board both support the proposal . <br /> Mr. Lawrence and Mr. Hanson both indicated that Mr. Kirrane <br /> should not assume that the Mashpee DPW would be responsible <br /> for completing the work for realignment of Asher' s Path. <br /> Mr. Carter asked that Mr. Kirrane and Mr. Virgilio meet <br /> with the Board at a later date and that Mr . Kirrane provide <br /> further information in terms of. cost for the realignment of <br /> Asher's Path. <br />
