BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 2 MINUTES AUGUST 20, 1990 Richard Halpern d/b/a The Riverbend: Selectman Carter made second the motion. The vote of the Selectmen is unanimous. Mashpee/Sandwich Wastewater Treatment: Kevin Harrington. reported on the mutual interest issues with the Town: of Sandwich concerning. ,solutions- to.:,our. wastewater problems. He will request the .Board of Health, Sewer Commission and Selectmen' s office ,be available to meet with Sandwich officials in the future: One member from each group would. be necessary to- meet with the Town of Sandwich. Selectman Carter expressed his interest -and will be available to represent the town Kevin Harrington will schedule a meeting for early to mid-Sept- ember for this meeting. The Board approves. 7:16 p.m. Hearin Gone Tomatos Restaurant: . Selectman Hanson has stepped down for this hearing. Chairman Carter made the motion to continue the hearing for September 4th since Selectman Gottlieb is not present. Mr. William Petralia representing Gone Tomatos has asked for a temporary two week permit since September .the 4th is towards the end of his season. Petralia claims he is victimized by bad advice. Serving food with non alcoholic beverages is difficult to police and a burden to"4owner and customers not having alcoholic beverages. Selectman Jacobson asks why it is so important to serve alcohol outdoors when it is such a burden and the season is almost aver: Chairman Carter has recommended a special hearing on the 27th before the. general public discussion on this matter. Mr. Petralia will recieve a notice by Friday to confirm this meeting. Annual Town Meeting Preparation: 7: 25 P.m. Selectman Lawrence has arrived for the regular meeting. Kevin Harrington has submitted an outline of key dates and timetables for the:.preparation. of the October Annual Town Meeting. Chairman Carter would like the board to cznsi.der Tuesday, August ' 28th to meet'. With the Finance Committee to discuss warrant articles involving finance. The Selectmen agree with the date change but would like to check with Selectman Gottlieb and 'Chairman Vaccaro before -the date is definite. Kevin Harrington will check with the members and inform the board of the date change.
