BOARD OF SELECTMEN page 6 <br /> MINUTES <br /> AUGUST 28 , 1990 -' SPECIAL MEETING <br /> Article 44: <br /> Submitted by the DPW. The money is committed, Ch. 90 funded. <br /> No specific roads at this time. <br /> 7:45 p.m. Petition Articles: <br /> Article 48s. <br /> Similar to Article 17 <br /> Article 49 : <br /> Appropriation of $400, 00 for design services foranew elementary <br /> school. <br /> Selectman Lawrence feels that if this was not submitted by <br /> petition, it would not be in the warrant. <br /> Questions came from residents concerning additions, the <br /> consideration of a high school and other feasible options. <br /> Chairman. Carter noted the School Building Committee along <br /> with Dr. DeMoura have 'researched this situation considerably. <br /> Selectman Hanson would like the committee to attend the town <br /> annual to educate the public of this concern. <br /> Article 50: <br /> An article submitted for negotiations to lease or purchase <br /> Pine Tree Place for town offices. <br /> Selectman Lawrence- would:_like:. to look into this matter more <br /> closely. <br /> Regardless of the Town Hall issue, Selectman Hanson would <br /> like money to be transferred to repair the existing building for <br /> the town offices. It is a fine historical place in town. Although <br /> money is tight, town offices will have to remain here for at least <br /> another 1 year to 12 years. Funds should be made available to <br /> repair this building. <br /> Gam-Electric is preparing an energy audit on this building. <br /> Mr. Harrington would like to see new windows. <br /> Selectman Jacobson would like local contractors to .view the <br /> building to give advice and estimates as a community involvement <br /> project. An architect would be required to prepare the specifications <br /> to go out to bid. <br /> In closing comments, Jim Vaccaro states, this has been a very <br /> useful meeting. He would like to contiunue in the spirit to have <br /> the two Boards work together closely so we continue in the same <br /> directions. A cohesive policy since we are facing our most critical <br /> year. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 8 :00 p.m. <br />
