a BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 4 <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, OCTOBER 15, - 1990 <br /> Senior Center Buildine, Committee: <br /> Robert E. Osborn, a chairman on the Council on Aging, Gertrude <br /> Cuthbert, a former member of the Council on Aging and participant <br /> on Senior Center activities, .Charles F. Buckingham, a member of the <br /> Friends of Council on Aging and A. James Orlando of Mashpee wish to <br /> service the Senior Center Building Committee. <br /> Selectman Jacobson made the motion to approve the four above <br /> named individuals to. service the Senior Center Building Committee. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb seconded .the motion. The Board votes in a <br /> unanimous decision to approve the applicants. There .is one opening <br /> in the Committee, <br /> Communication From the Campaign for.Massachusetts' Future : <br /> Selectman Jacobson would like to explain the effects of the <br /> ballot questions on a more personal level. She would like Mashpee <br /> informed on the effects to the school system and town government. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb feels there is no way to know how the reduction <br /> will be implimented. He would like the Board to express their feelings . <br /> an the ballot issues. <br /> Kevin Harrington has estimated Mashpee to loose approximately <br /> $87, 000. <br /> Proclamation for Approval: <br /> Selectman Lawrence made the motion to approve -October 24, 1990 <br /> as United Nations Day as proclaimed by Selectman Carter. <br /> Selectman Jacobson. seconded the motion. The Board votes in a <br /> unanimous decision. <br /> New England Telephone Petitions 96-56, 96-57, 96-603 and 96-612 : <br /> Selectman Lawrence made the motion to approve Petition 96-56, <br /> 96-57, 96-603 and 96-612. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. The Board votes in a <br /> unanimous decision to approve the above petitions. <br /> Package Store Licensees: <br /> Selectman Lawrence has stepped down for this .issue. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the limited <br /> Sunday openings before Christmas and New Year' s. <br /> Selectman Jacobson seconded the motion. The Board votes in favor. <br /> The vote is 3--0. <br /> Advisory from the Barnstable County Selectmens Association: <br /> Kevin Harrington will attend the meeting scheduled on October 19, - 199- <br /> of the Barnstable County Selectmens Association with the Boards approval. <br /> Selectman Lawrence suggested the Association have an evening <br /> meeting rather than a Friday afternoon meeting for this annual event. <br />
