a BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 4 MINUTES MONDAY, OCTOBER 15, - 1990 Senior Center Buildine, Committee: Robert E. Osborn, a chairman on the Council on Aging, Gertrude Cuthbert, a former member of the Council on Aging and participant on Senior Center activities, .Charles F. Buckingham, a member of the Friends of Council on Aging and A. James Orlando of Mashpee wish to service the Senior Center Building Committee. Selectman Jacobson made the motion to approve the four above named individuals to. service the Senior Center Building Committee. Selectman Gottlieb seconded .the motion. The Board votes in a unanimous decision to approve the applicants. There .is one opening in the Committee, Communication From the Campaign for.Massachusetts' Future : Selectman Jacobson would like to explain the effects of the ballot questions on a more personal level. She would like Mashpee informed on the effects to the school system and town government. Selectman Gottlieb feels there is no way to know how the reduction will be implimented. He would like the Board to express their feelings . an the ballot issues. Kevin Harrington has estimated Mashpee to loose approximately $87, 000. Proclamation for Approval: Selectman Lawrence made the motion to approve -October 24, 1990 as United Nations Day as proclaimed by Selectman Carter. Selectman Jacobson. seconded the motion. The Board votes in a unanimous decision. New England Telephone Petitions 96-56, 96-57, 96-603 and 96-612 : Selectman Lawrence made the motion to approve Petition 96-56, 96-57, 96-603 and 96-612. Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. The Board votes in a unanimous decision to approve the above petitions. Package Store Licensees: Selectman Lawrence has stepped down for this .issue. The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the limited Sunday openings before Christmas and New Year' s. Selectman Jacobson seconded the motion. The Board votes in favor. The vote is 3--0. Advisory from the Barnstable County Selectmens Association: Kevin Harrington will attend the meeting scheduled on October 19, - 199- of the Barnstable County Selectmens Association with the Boards approval. Selectman Lawrence suggested the Association have an evening meeting rather than a Friday afternoon meeting for this annual event.
