BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1990 <br /> Present: Selectman Carter, Selectman Jacobson, Selectman Lawrence, <br /> Selectman Gottlieb <br /> Executive Secretary- Kevin J . Harrington <br /> Town Counsel Joseph J. Reardon <br /> Absent; Selectman Hanson <br /> Guests: Chief Robert L. Ridgeway, Gail McDonald, Morris Kirsner, <br /> Mark Cullinan <br /> The Meeting was Called to Order by Chairman Carter at 6:30 p.m. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the minutes <br /> of December 3, 1990 Regular and Executive Sessions. <br /> Selectman Carter seconded the motion. The Board votes in favor <br /> to approve the past minutes. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Second Oyster Harvest: <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to allow the shellfish <br /> officer to conduct a second oyster harvest on the weekends of December <br /> 15th and loth and on December 22nd and 23rd of 1990. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. The Board votes in favor <br /> to approve the second oyster harvest and scheduled dates. <br /> Walter Jacobson re: Shellfish Grant: <br /> Selectman Jacobson has stepped down for this hearing. <br /> Mr. Harrington has reported that in a letter of December 11, 1990, <br /> Walter Jacobson has requested a two acre shellfish grant in Popponessett <br /> Bay for the purpose of commercial aquaculture. <br /> The Harbor Master and Shellfish Constable have recommended for <br /> this grant. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb has recommended a public hearing to be held <br /> for this grant. The Board agrees. Kevin Harrington will schedule <br /> the hearing for this grant. <br /> Public Water - Great Neck Road South: <br /> Area residents of Okway Bay and Monomoscoy Island are concerned <br /> with the water quality since the water source has been shut off on <br /> Great Neck Road South. <br /> 'A petition was submitted requesting to reopen the water source. <br /> The residents complain of tainted. smell from their faucets and contam- <br /> inated water. The water source has been shut off since mid-November. <br /> . The Water Commission is in favor of support to the residents. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb has recommended the district place a valve on the <br /> hydrant near the M ashpee/Falmouth line on Rte. 28. This may cost less <br /> to the town. <br />
