TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> July 22 , 1998 <br /> The Design Review Committee met at 6 : 30 p.m. on Wednesday, <br /> July 22 , 1998 at the Lower Level of Mashpee Town Hall . <br /> Committee Members Present : William Hauck, Ex Officio; <br /> Mary LeBlanc; Thomas F . O'Hara, and Bob Nelson, Representative <br /> from the ZBA. <br /> Absent : Patrick Coffey, Ed Govoni . <br /> 1. 550 Route 28 South Cape FactoKy Outlet Center <br /> Mary LeBlanc stepped down. <br /> Mr. Charles Talamian and Mr. Don Mugathlin presented detailed <br /> plans for a factory discount outlet near Dick & Ellie' s on <br /> Rt . 28 . Using Cape Cod Commission guidelines, they displayed <br /> plans for extensive landscaping, meandering walkways, setbacks <br /> of 751 , and a portion of the state bikeway. <br /> Some existing vegetation will be maintained; they have worked <br /> closely with Sea Mist and other abutters . Sidewalks are <br /> planned along the three borders including along Great Neck <br /> South. Eight acres will be dedicated to open space. A <br /> miniature golf course is proposed behind the Liquor Warehouse. <br /> An additional plan showed elevations along Rt . 28, South St. , <br /> and Joy St. A bus shelter, buffer parking lot, farmers ' <br /> market, and pedestrian walkway are planned. The height of the <br /> buildings will range between 18 ' and 34 ' . Three curb cuts are <br /> anticipated. Signage will conform to regulations at 40 sq. ft . <br /> and will be located at the three entrances . <br /> Lighting around the pedestrian walkways will be 12 ft . in <br /> height; parking lot lighting will be 20 ft . high. <br /> Ms . LeBlanc presented detailed landscaping plans noting the <br /> project will be going before the Cape Cod Commission. A <br /> variance will be requested from ComElectric in order to plant <br /> shade trees in designated areas . Seasonal effects and <br /> esthetics are of concern. <br />
