TOWN OF MASHPEE
DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
June 9, 1999
The Design Review Committee met at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at the
Lower Level of Mashpee Town Hall.
Committee Members Present: Mary LeBlanc and Walter Yarosh.
Also Present: Russ Wheeler.
Absent: Ed Govoni, Thomas O'Hara, & Bill Hauck
1. Cormier's Automotive Service-375 Nathan_Ellis_Highway
Generally, it was agreed the building and finishes look fine. It was suggested there
be a good clearing in order for the sign to be visible. The property line, it was noted,
is a Town of Mashpee issue.
Mr. John Slaviski explained the proposed landscaping for the lot. Placement and
type of plantings were discussed at length. Arborvite will create a buffer along the
rear property line. The size of the two pear trees will be increased from 2.5" to
3" caliber. The plant list was reviewed. It was agreed to increase the number of
Variegated Euonymos (Emerald & Gold) from six to fourteen.
Split face block will be utilized for the building. Dryvit will be used; color will be Bay
State tan, the roof will be black, and trim will be white. There were no objections to
these plans.
The landscaping plan will be superimposed over the site plan.
Mr. Hauck will let the applicant know when the plan is in the office.
2. Mashpee Commons,, Buildings 15 & 24- Plan Review
GAP - Mr. Randall Imai presented plans showing Buildings 15 & 24 on North Street.
Screened parking is planned similar to the Stop & Shop's. A walking area from
street to street is envisioned; wires will be buried. The design of the buildings was
described as `friendly'.
Windows and the character of this building met with approval. Materials will be
traditional---brick will be used for the basic building with wood finish.
