Design Review Committee -2 February 9, 2000
3. Mashpee Commons, North Street Renovation Landscaping
Ms. LeBlanc and Mr. Storrs presented clarification issues regarding liner Buildings
26 and 28A—asphalt shingles will be used. On Buildings 27 and 28 small
components will be changed such as the roof lines and design changes. Footprints
will not be adjusted.
The present landscaping plan shows off the Rt. 151 entrance, where a town green
will be created and cluster landscaping utilized. Large trees will be planted in the
middle and along the side. The entrance off Rt. 28 will be widened; large oaks,
seasonal shrubs, and ornamental grasses will be planted.
Sidewalks will be introduced throughout the area to accommodate pedestrians
traveling from parking lots and from store to store. Benches and bike racks will be
worked in. The front of Fleet Bank {Rockland Trust} will be revised.
Various calculations set the total parking spaces at 1,039 for the entire site.
Concern was expressed regarding summertime parking requirements. It was
suggested temporary spaces could be provided behind the medical building up to
the library area.
4. Mountain Village Limited, Ninegret Avenue, off Rt. 151
Ms. LeBlanc rejoined the meeting.
Mr. Tony Ferragamo, representing Mountain Village Ltd., displayed plans for a
20-seat, 40' x 40' single story building, which may be utilized as a donut shop with a
drive-thru window. The property abuts the parking lot of Cherrystones Restaurant.
A buffer should be provided on the Cherrystones side. The front of the property is
very important and should provide a year-round buffer. Inkberry, evergreens,
pears, maples, oak, pines, and decorative trees should be incorporated. If the area
is not going to be irrigated, the species chosen should be drought tolerant.
The dumpster in the rear will be shielded by 6 ft. arborvitaes. The building will be
white or gray vinyl with a black roof. The septic system conforms to Title V. It was
suggested the Technical Review Committee be consulted regarding the swales.
Adjournment: 7:28 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
(a' A''
Jane A. Pierce
Recording Secretary
