Design Review Committee -3- June 23, 2000 3. Bowdoin Road — Bosun's Marine Mr. William Hauck is appearing for Bosun's Marine and has produced site plan layouts for the Committee. The lot size is approximately three acres. There is more parking than is required. The Bosun's Marine plan is to build a showroom center addition to the existing building and move some outside boats to an inside display location. The existing building is approximately 3,200 square feet. The showroom center addition is an 80' by 80' metal building, one level, and totaling 6,400 square feet. The front of the metal showroom center addition will be framed out of wood in order to conform to the rest of the center. The siding on the new addition will be the same; a lighter Cape Cod style color will be used, possibly yellow. Architect roof shingles are used across the entire front; high pitches will be retained, with grilles and glass; roof panels are metal sloped. A temporary tent structure, utilized as a service center, will be replaced with a metal building service center. The service center building is screened from the street. There is a special permit for the existing fences. The fences will be screened with landscaping in the form of the continuation of the existing hedge. On one area of the lot that is overgrown, the big plants will be brought out, and there will be landscaping to make it more uniform. The existing sign will stay, along with some landscaping. The signage on the building will be form panels on the Route 28 side. The signage package is identical, coming in at 3.4 percent. j i Bosun's Marine has purchased another lot, zoned industrial, and will utilize this lot to store boats. This additional lot is a back lot and is not visible. The existing utility pole in the middle of the site will be taken out, and the lighting will be off the back of the building. i
