Mashpee Design Review Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Wednesday,March 19, 2003 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Office of Board of Appeals <br /> Committee Members Present: Walter Yarosh and Thomas O'Hara. <br /> Absent: Edward Govoni,Mary LeBlanc, Russell Wheeler,and Don Myers. <br /> Summary <br /> • Mike's Service Station—To come back to next meeting. <br /> • Deer Crossing—Edwin Watts Golf(old Factory Shoe Mart)—To submit Plan. <br /> • Carpet Barn—To submit Plan. <br /> • Rockland Trust—Plymouth Sign Co. —Sign Approved and Stamped with Approval. <br /> The meeting came to order at 9:35 a.m. <br /> Discussion <br /> Mike's Service Station...Gary Bourne of Bourne Petroleum, Ltd. was present and stated they <br /> have begun the process with ZBA and are partly through. They are to go back to ZBA to <br /> better define how towing issues will be handled and how they'll "police" it. Nothing has <br /> been approved by ZBA. There are 2 businesses conducted at the site—namely,auto service <br /> (including towing and police towing storage)and a convenience store. <br /> Mr. Bourne showed existing site plan and also the proposed site plan. These were discussed <br /> in detail and suggestions and By-Law requirements were discussed. Some of the details <br /> noted are: <br /> They have to submit a landscape plan and the plan should show sizes of shrubs. <br /> There is minimum buffer requirement(s). May need variance from Board of Appeals. When <br /> they come back with landscape plan then they'll look at buffer. <br /> Need special permit for proposed Canopy. Mr. Bourne showed Canopy sketch plan and said <br /> it has no signage on it. <br /> Show Design Review exactly what you want to do. <br /> In reviewing building Plan, it was noted that"Band" on building will change it from <br /> residential-looking building to commercial-looking building. There are other ways of doing <br /> lighting in a residential district. <br /> Conclusion: Mr. Bourne to contact Pat to put on next meeting agenda. <br />
