Casual Designs
Joe Murphy was present and he showed photos he gave to Board of Appeals. Following discussion, Mr.
Murphy was advised:
• 12' Maximum distance off building for display area up to 200 square feet.
• He can't use parking lot to display items.
• He should watch property line.
• Keep display narrow and closer to the building.
• Temporary display is okay, but no permanent displays.
• Keep displays inside pole and tree line would be all right.
Conclusion: Approved with proviso Casual Designs stays within square footage Board of Appeals approved.
This conditional approval issued specifically for Casual Designs only, not for the building.
Affordable Housing
Route 130
Kevin Kirrane began by introducing John Scanlon, Tim Wentz, Andy Baker and Matt Eddy. He said that the
group was coming for input, comments and as a courtesy prior to going to the Board of Appeals. Kevin said
they will construct a sewage treatment plant on the site and hopefully town water will be available.
It was the intention to build all at once, but may have to be done in phases to accommodate the Water District.
That's still in the works. The pool and clubhouse will be done in the first phase. The site plans were reviewed
and discussed in detail—some of the points made:
• Will mimic Cape Cod architecture.
• Held buildings to 24 units each--3-story building.
• They didn't have all elevation plans, but said back same as front.
• All handicap facilities on first floor; no elevators to upper floors...stairways only.
• Market rate will be charged for other than affordable housing units—thus cater to all groups.
• They'll fence side by gravel pit.
• Now in site review step; next step will be comprehensive permit.
Conclusion: Stamped approve with request another copy of site Plan be provided to Design Review for files
since they only brought one color copy, which was stamped and returned to them.
Approval of Minutes....The minutes of May 21, 2003 were approved as presented, with Walter and Mary
abstaining from the vote.
Adiournment...Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
Zjpect
l y submitted,
Gilerti
Recording Secretary
