Site Plan and Landscape Review
Boat Storage and Maintenance Building
Wags Road
Kevin Kirrane
Kevin Kirrane appeared and was given the signed letter from Design Review dated July 20, 2004, which is in
response to his July 13 letter to Design Review. Copies of these 2 letters are attached to printed set of these
minutes. During the discussion period that followed Kevin asked whether or not Design Review would send
copy of their July 20 letter to the Board of Appeals. Waiter responded that they would, as well as providing a
copy to the other Boards.
The project was again discussed. Walter again emphasized that Design Review would like to work with them
and that 3 Design Review Trustees and site engineer went out to the site and walked the area. They spent 2
hours there.
Design Review informed Kevin that they had a brief discussion with Chief Baker just prior to the start of this
meeting and that the Chief will be preparing a letter on the fire issues, etc. In addition, the Chief advised that he
spoke with their consultant and the Chief thinks the consultant is going to state 10' buffer, but consultant also
specifies a minimum of 3 to 6 feet spacing between boats, spacing determined by size of boat. However, Chief
Baker still has not received written report from consultant, which he expected to receive by now.
Summarizing, the two really big issues are buffer requirements and working with Fire Chief on fire
requirements. Following are some of the main issues still to be addressed:
• Topography in the field does not match Engineering Plan.
• In Plan to be submitted designate parking space for boats.
• Bring retaining walls inside buffer.
• If storing boats inside(Kevin thinks they will)then Chief Baker to be informed so they meet fire
requirements.
Kevin said he would notify Applicant. He said that he went to ZBA to seek variance on buffer, but he has no
intention of going forward unless fire issues are resolved.
Conclusion: Design Review recommendation to all other Town Boards of Plans submitted to date would
be not to approve the project. Also if Applicant does a re-design their Plan should match topography in
the field and they should meet fire requirements,
Adjournment...Meeting was adjourned at 9:20 a.m.
spectfully submitted,
can Giliberti
Recording Secretary
7
