Andrew began by presenting
the proposed landscape plan and Jeff presented the Building Plan. There was a very lengthy review and
discussion...the following issues and comments being discussed in detail:
• No barbed wire fencing will be used.
• No rack system to be allowed outside.
• Applicant proposing storing 27 to 30 boats outside.
• Deputy Sheldon Hamblin commented that the Plan they are presenting shows a chain link fence on the
outside of the landscaping, but his Plan shows that chain link fence also has a flame impingement barrier
which is not shown here.
• Flame impingement barrier on outside area of the property is a requirement and is set out in Tony
Caputo's 12/17/04 report. Copy of this 12/17/04 report is attached to the printed set of these minutes.
• Flame impingement barriers between every 10 boats is not required but should be considered.
• Walter read paragraph B of the 12/17/04 report, which states that the barrier is to extend the full length'
and height of the boats. Does this mean wall might be 20' in height? Kevin Kirrane stated he would
contact Tony Caputo for his explanation of this recommendation and to address the issue to determine
what the fire code required.
• Kevin Kirrane said he would send a letter with Tony's interpretation.
• Wags road property connected to Deer Crossing through a fire lane.
• Applicant presented building Plan, colors and samples for the building, which were approved.
• Dumpster location is protected with fire suppression system. Side wall sprinkler needed.
• Plan had no screening at dumpster; suggestion was made that they provide a simple screen at the Deer
Crossing side.
• There will be no gas on the site for refilling boats.
• Propane storage for heating the building—Where is this to be placed?
Conclusions:
1.
