He said the building location
he originally submitted was not the right location. The unit is a corner unit. They are not putting up a 20-foot building
sign but, rather, showed 2 signs to be used on the building—one sign facing Route 28 and the other sign facing Industrial
Road. One sign is going by the door at eye level and the other is going over windows. There is no second floor of the
unit.
Conclusion: Stamped Approved.
3887 Nathan Ellis Highway
Unit 11
Bike Zone
Ken Alty addressed the Committee and showed signage he's proposing to use. He said he followed signs that are already
there at the other businesses. Design Review Committee explained to Mr. Alty that unfortunately all the other signs there
are"illegal"since they were never review or approved by Design Review. In reviewing Mr. Alty's proposed signage
Tom O'Hara suggested that Bike Zone use letters so that the lettering will be under 20 square feet, which would not
exceed 10%of building space. Tom explained that in using the lettering the colored trim band doesn't count. Tom also
explained that there is a by-law that says no neon signs are permitted. Mr. Alty said they would do the lettering as
suggested.
Conclusion: Stamped Approved.
