Minutes of Combined Meeting of <br /> Mashpee Design Review Committee and <br /> Mashpee Plan Review Committee <br /> Held Thursday, September 27, 2007 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 1 <br /> Design Review Members Present: Thomas O'Hara, Walter Yarosh,Robert Nelson, Tom <br /> Jalowy, and Richard Stevens. <br /> Plan Review Members Present: <br /> Richard Stevens,Building Inspector <br /> Charlie Maintanis, Local Inspector <br /> Sheldon Hamblin,Deputy Fire Chief <br /> Glen Harrington, Health,Agent <br /> Drew McManus, Assistant Conservation Agent <br /> Tom Fudala, Town Planner <br /> Catherine Laurent, Assistant Director DPW <br /> Joel Clifford—Fire Department <br /> Meeting called to order at 9.05 a.m. <br /> PROJECTS FOR REVIEW: <br /> 89 Industrial Drive <br /> Applicant—Chris Holman <br /> Owner—Robert Lawton <br /> Construct a 32x40 PVC coated polyester fabric shelter to <br /> store erosion control products this lot is vacant). <br /> Chris Holman appeared. Following points were made during the review and discussion: <br /> • Landscaping plan already on front area of property to keep separate from Water District. <br /> • Since Water District involved, Tom Fudala reclused himself from this review. <br /> • Walter Yarosh pointed out that from a Design Review standpoint all buildings in <br /> Industrial Park are treated the same. This proposed building does not meet the criteria. <br /> + This is a permanent structure since it would be for the length of the lease, which could be <br /> 10 years. <br /> • All members of Design Review Committee voted to not approve this application. <br /> + Applicant would have to go to Board of Appeals to get a special permit. Bob Nelson <br /> commented that ZBA would want a letter from the Fire Department. <br /> + Parking—Applicant said if he had to have parking he would asphalt the area. <br /> + Business is operating a wholesale business out of there now; and it is,all gravel now. <br /> • Membrane is PVC coated...Sheldon asked about warranty. Is it lifetime? Applicant <br /> provided the spec sheet for the THA shelter, which is attached to the printed set of these <br /> minutes. <br /> • Material stored inside would be considered flammable. Sheldon pointed out when PVC <br /> burns it is a carcinogen. <br /> • Sheldon noted the Fire Department would want a non-igniting PVC; Sheldon said also <br /> give fire retardant expiration dates. <br /> Conclusion: Not approved. <br />
