Doug Storrs
Jobs& Whitings Road Commercial Space continued
• Access issues...Charlie Maintanis suggested keeping handicap parking; handicap access
issues; etc. in mind as they go along. Doug Storrs said as they've come along they've
added additional handicap parking and ramps.
• Bob Nelson suggested it might be beneficial to tell this Committee of ZBA restrictions
spelled out for Market Street. Mr. Storrs said they would be building and making formal
connection from Market Street up to Jobs Fishing Road.
• Tom O'Hara said everybody on Planning Board liked the plan but had questions about
parking issues and service delivery street parking issues. Tom also said he is looking for
j 'input from Police and Fire Departments so he could bring information from this
Committee to the Planning Board to move it forward.
• Doug Storrs said George Baker went through in detail and said in front of ZBA that he
was satisfied with everything but was not completely happy with 2 or 3 buildings but they
are in phase 6 or 7 and will be dealt with down the line. Sheldon said if they come back
with details on each phase, then that's fine.
• Mr. Storrs noted that Market Street is being completed as part of phase 1.
• Fire Alarm System...Sheldon asked for those buyers other than Mashpee Commons, who
is responsible for fire alarm systems? He said that is the intent of the lane.
• Parking...W. Storrs repeated that they are going to have plenty of parking. He said
employees are calculated in the parking calculations. He believes they have parking
spaces in excess of the demand.
• Tom Fudala commented that Planning Board now specifies square footage for each
allowed use in special permits. Mr. Storrs said he objects strongly to putting limitations
on their project due to faults of others.
Comments from Audience
Robert Wooldridge asked Mr. Storrs if wherever practical they have access ramps at emergency
exits for the commercial units. Further,Mr. Wooldridge suggested they do an over-all review of
topography and positioning of handicap parking. As an example, he said right now behind Sienna
there are 2 handicap spaces that are on slopes. Mr. Storrs said this is a valid comment and he
would discuss this at the ZBA.
Next Meeting
Bob Nelson advised that at February 13`h ZBA meeting they have the new post office building on
the agenda and recommends this Committee review the site plan.
