Chase Couture
Suits, Tailoring & More
Jim McDerott Si n-A-Rama
Mr. McDerott appeared and said existing business on the corner next to Roche. He said there are 2
signs there now. They expanded the business on Joy Street and are looking to replace the 2 existing
signs and put up new sign on the additional space. He said they want to upgrade the signs—they
would be wood signs and raised letters applied to the sign. They would have raised wooden picture
frame border. Tom O'Hara noted that the square footage is well within the limits. Bob.Nelson
commented that he dislikes the business putting the racks of clothing items outside.
CONCLUSION: Approved.
Country Smiles Doll Shop
20 Bates Road
'Bill Heilbromn
Bill Heilbromn appeared and said they've been in business 14 years in Mashpee and recently moved
to Mashpee Commons. He said they've been in Mashpee Commons 3 months and are proposing a
single-face sign that hangs from canopy that projects from the building. He said the hook is there
already where there have been signs before. He said he was looking toward 10% allowance and
came up to close to 6% but he now knows 5% only is allowed. He said he cannot attach sign to the
building so that's why he hangs on the canopy. He said he can reduce signage to get to 5%
allowance. He said there is a sign at the back door entrance. Right now he has a sign until the
canopy sign is done. He said they do have a doable-sided 2X2 sign now so that means the canopy
sign would roughly have to be 8 square feet.
CONCLUSION: Approved with condition to bring down to 5% total signage allowance.
Approval.of Minutes - -
Tom O'Hara motioned to accept the minutes of the Design Review Committee Meeting of September
9, 2010 as written; Bob Nelson seconded this motion.
Roll Call Vote: The motion was passed, with George Petersen and Tom Jalowy abstaining.
Adiournment...The Design Review Meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m. so that the Committee could
reconvene for a combined meeting with the Plan Review Committee.
Respectfully submitted,
Je n Giliberti
Recording Secretary
3
