During the review and
discussion it was pointed out repeatedly to Ms. Almeida that permits should have been obtained for
the renovations and for the day care. Ms. Almeida apologized for not knowing ... she said she
thought since she was licensed under the State that was all that was required. She said she had day
care in Hyannis and only had to go through the State_ Following information was presented to the
Committee
r
• Day care is in the garage.
• They do not put cars in the garage at all.
• They re-did the garage; covered the garage door inside with sheet rock and sealed in with a
foam from Home Depot to keep heat in. Rich Stevens commented that they needed a permit
for the garage door renovations.
• They did tile flooring in the garage.
• Child care licensed for the garage, kitchen, TV room and one bathroom that is used only for
day care pupils.
• One passage door goes directly to backyard from the garage.
• 2 little windows can be opened from the garage.
• 2 exits--one through the house and one straight out from the garage.
• They have smoke detectors in every single room of the house so when one beeps they all
beep.
• Alarm goes to Cape Cod Alarm. They also have a panic button.
