MINUTES OF PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> • MEETING OF JUNE 14, 1982 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting: <br /> Robert Sullivan, Chairman, Caroline Gilligan, John Peters and Curtis Woodbury. <br /> Chairman Sullivan called the meeting to order promptly at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Review of Draft of P.A.P. <br /> Each Board member was presented with a draft of the P.A.P. which was prepared by <br /> Attorney Gilman, at the request of the Board of Selectmen. Each member was asked <br /> to review the draft and make recommendations. <br /> Permission to Contact Personnel Director, Barnstable <br /> The Personnel Board gave their permission for their secretary to contact the Personnel <br /> Director at the Barnstable Town Hall in order to setup an appointment as part of the <br /> comparison study on salary levels currently. being done by the Personnel Board. Caroline <br /> Gilligan said that she would be willing to go with the secretary. <br /> Personnel Board Vacancy <br /> At the request of Bob Sullivan, the secretary was asked to send a memo to the Selectmen <br /> advising them that the Personnel Board is currently considering a few candidates for <br /> filling the vacancy on the Board. <br /> . Police Vacation Requests <br /> At the last Personnel Board meeting, it was requested by Chief Frye-to allow several <br /> police officers to carry over vacation time in excess of what is allowed. Since that <br /> meeting, the Personnel Board requested copies of the.,original vacation requests made <br /> by the officers. The matter was tabled until the next personnel meeting. <br /> Salary Levels <br /> A memo dated June 9 from the Executive Secretary regarding salary levels was read into <br /> the minutes. He is requesting to meet with the Personnel Board in order to discuss <br /> department head salaries as well as to discuss the availability of the Automated Labor <br /> Relations Service of the Mass. Municipal Association in securing data. The Board asked <br /> the secretary to set the meeting up for June 28. <br /> Fire Chief Interviews <br /> The Personnel Board conducted interviews for the position of Fire Chief along with the <br /> assistance of Chief Mills and Cal Hitchcock (a former Fire Chief of Otis Fire Dept.). <br /> The following candidates were .interviewed: Jon C. Jones of Lunenburg, Ma., Valmore <br /> Denault of Chicopee, Ma.,. Glenn Coffin of South Dennis, Thomas Manley of Sandwich and <br /> William Jones, III of Barnstable. No decision was made at tonight'-s meeting as addi- <br /> tional candidates are scheduled to be interviewed by the Personnel Board on June 21.. <br /> Fire Chief Examination <br /> In a memo dated June 10 from the Executive Secretary, he advises the Personnel Board <br /> that the Board of Selectmen are in full agreement regarding the weight given to the <br /> examination which is planned for the Fire Chief finalists. <br />
