MINUTES OF PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> 0 April 12, 1982 <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting: <br /> Robert W. Sullivan, Caroline Gilligan and Curtis Woodbury. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> Election of Chairperson <br /> Curtis Woodbury nominated Bob Sullivan to the position of Chairperson to the Personnel <br /> Board. Carolyn Gilligan seconded the motion. Bob Sullivan accepted the nomination. <br /> E.K.G. for Regular Police Under Age 40 <br /> A memo dated April 8 was received from Chief Frye asking the Personnel Board to advise <br /> him if the town would pay for E.K.G.'s for regular police officers under the age of 40. <br /> F <br /> The Personnel Board voted not to approve payment of E.K.G.'s for regular police officers <br /> under the age of forty. <br /> 7:45 P.M. Mee-Ling With Grace Maddox <br /> Grace Maddox, Robert DeLory (Chairman of Board of Assessors) and Joe Murphy met with the <br /> Personnel Board in order to discuss time taken by Grace during the week ending March 5. <br /> • Mr. DeLory explained to the Personnel Board that Mrs. Maddox filled out a form requesting <br /> three days of bereavement leave during the week ending March 5. Mr. DeLory stated that <br /> he disapproved the form and that Grace Maddox ripped it up. He explained that a copy of <br /> the weekly payroll voucher was given to Joe Murphy which was also filed with the Personnel <br /> Board in connection with sick time which the Personnel Board disallowed as per their memo <br /> of March 23. <br /> Mrs. Maddox explained to the Board that Mr. DeLory told her to fill out a bereavement form <br /> for the time off. She explained that the person past away at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening. <br /> She explained that she had been out sick on the previous Friday (2/26), on Monday (3/1) <br /> and Tuesday (3/2). Mrs. Maddox further explained that she came to work on Wednesday (3/3) <br /> as she could not afford to get a note from a doctor for a cold. She continued to explain <br /> that she came in on Thursday for a little while and then went home and did not report to <br /> work on Friday. <br /> Mr. DeLory told the Personnel Board that his Board was a part-time board in charge of the <br /> girls in the office and that they expect them to take care of reporting these things. He <br /> told the Board that Grace did call him stating that there was a death and that he told her <br /> to do whatever it takes for the time off. <br /> Mrs. Maddox told the Board that Mr. DeLory was informed that it was Horace Pocknett's sis- <br /> ter who past away and Mr. DeLory told her to do whatever it takes if she had the time. <br /> Grace explained to the Board again that she was out on Monday and Tuesday and that she <br /> worked a half day Wednesday, Thursday she went home at 10 o'clock and Friday did not re- <br /> port to work at all. <br /> • Bob Sullivan asked Grace who told her to go home on the half days? <br />
