MINUTES OF PERSONNEL BOARD MASHPEE TOWN HALL 0 April 12, 1982 The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting: Robert W. Sullivan, Caroline Gilligan and Curtis Woodbury. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Election of Chairperson Curtis Woodbury nominated Bob Sullivan to the position of Chairperson to the Personnel Board. Carolyn Gilligan seconded the motion. Bob Sullivan accepted the nomination. E.K.G. for Regular Police Under Age 40 A memo dated April 8 was received from Chief Frye asking the Personnel Board to advise him if the town would pay for E.K.G.'s for regular police officers under the age of 40. F The Personnel Board voted not to approve payment of E.K.G.'s for regular police officers under the age of forty. 7:45 P.M. Mee-Ling With Grace Maddox Grace Maddox, Robert DeLory (Chairman of Board of Assessors) and Joe Murphy met with the Personnel Board in order to discuss time taken by Grace during the week ending March 5. • Mr. DeLory explained to the Personnel Board that Mrs. Maddox filled out a form requesting three days of bereavement leave during the week ending March 5. Mr. DeLory stated that he disapproved the form and that Grace Maddox ripped it up. He explained that a copy of the weekly payroll voucher was given to Joe Murphy which was also filed with the Personnel Board in connection with sick time which the Personnel Board disallowed as per their memo of March 23. Mrs. Maddox explained to the Board that Mr. DeLory told her to fill out a bereavement form for the time off. She explained that the person past away at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening. She explained that she had been out sick on the previous Friday (2/26), on Monday (3/1) and Tuesday (3/2). Mrs. Maddox further explained that she came to work on Wednesday (3/3) as she could not afford to get a note from a doctor for a cold. She continued to explain that she came in on Thursday for a little while and then went home and did not report to work on Friday. Mr. DeLory told the Personnel Board that his Board was a part-time board in charge of the girls in the office and that they expect them to take care of reporting these things. He told the Board that Grace did call him stating that there was a death and that he told her to do whatever it takes for the time off. Mrs. Maddox told the Board that Mr. DeLory was informed that it was Horace Pocknett's sis- ter who past away and Mr. DeLory told her to do whatever it takes if she had the time. Grace explained to the Board again that she was out on Monday and Tuesday and that she worked a half day Wednesday, Thursday she went home at 10 o'clock and Friday did not re- port to work at all. • Bob Sullivan asked Grace who told her to go home on the half days?
