PERSONNEL BOARD MEETING MINUTES <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> February 1, 1982 <br /> The Personnel Board Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. The following <br /> members of the Board were present: James F. Rich, Chairman, Caroline Gilligan, <br /> John Peters, Jr., Bob Sullivan and Curtis Woodbury. <br /> The members of the Personnel Board welcomed the new member, Curtis Woodbury. <br /> The resignation of Kenneth Culp, Town Accountant, was read to the Board. The <br /> letter from the Executive Secretary dated January 28 regarding Mr. Culp's resig- <br /> nation was also read into the minutes. The Personnel Board has been asked to <br /> begin a search for a successor to Mr. Culp immediately. The Board was informed <br /> that advertisements had run in several newspapers over the weekend per Jim Rich's <br /> approval during a phone conversation with the Board Secretary on January 28. <br /> The Personnel Board was also informed that Vernice Polka was given full legal <br /> authority to oversee the operation of the Accounting Department per the Board of <br /> Selectmen's meeting on January 27, 1982. <br /> A memorandum from Vernice Polka dated February 1 was received and read into the <br /> minutes. The memorandum states that Judy Fitzgerald, the C.P.A., has completed <br /> the reconciliation of the Fiscal 1981 accounts. Mrs. Polka and Barbara Russell <br /> are now in the process of closing the books and completing reports. They ask <br /> • that only information which is absolutely necessary be requested. <br /> Amendments Under the P.A.P. <br /> The Personnel Board unanimously voted to amend the P.A.P. under Article XIII, <br /> Leaves of Absences, Section 6, Personal Leave to allow two (2) personal days per <br /> year for regular full-time employees. An amendment will be on file with the <br /> Town Clerk as of February 28 to be voted upon at the Annual Town Meeting. <br /> The Personnel Board also voted upon the addition of a Temporary Skilled Secretarial <br /> position to be paid at the rate of $5.47 per hour effective fiscal year, 1983. The <br /> proposed Salary Amendments will also be on file with the Town Clerk to be voted <br /> upon at the Annual Town Meeting al.ong_wifih Job Descriptions of all the positions <br /> which fall under the P.A.P. <br /> Town Report <br /> The Personnel Board accepted the Town Report with the addition of the change whereby <br /> an article was passed at the Special Town Meeting in November which approved the <br /> Selectmen or their designee to conduct all collective bargaining negotiations with <br /> town employees. <br /> Salary Budget <br /> The memorandum dated January 26, 1982, from the Executive Secretary regarding the <br /> 6% increase in the salary for the Town Accountant, Fire Chief, Police Chief, <br /> . Street. Superintendent, Building Inspector, Gas Inspector, Wire Inspector, Recrea- <br /> tion Director, Natural Resource Officer and Shellfish Constable effective fiscal <br /> year 1983 was read into the minutes. <br />
