4
MASHPEE SELECTMEN' S MEETING - 10/23/85 Page 3.
Terry: well, I don't know. It' s a situation here that---
Hanson: The question is', Dick, it' s not a matter of is . there a
road, it' s just, where is ,the road. It' s just a defi-
nition of where it is going to go from this point to
this point, and it' s between Mr. Umina and the Town
of Mashpee as far as the property is concerned. So
it's a matter of locating it; it' s not a matter of:
is there a road, or isn't there a road.
Terry: What are we talking, Bruce, as far as the town is con-
cerned, what---30 feet?
Gilmore:. I think it .is a little longer than that, but a good
part of it is coming from .John' s property anyway. Where
the two roads come together, Lovell' s Road and, what
is it, Quashriet, John, it forms a "U" , if you will,
the paved portion forms like a horseshoe. William Mingo
Road comes off that horseshoe in somewhat a V-shape
and its width goes from ballpark .50 feet where the two
roads come together to probably 15 feet up toward where
John's property is going to .come in.. We don't disagree
with the .40-foot layout and I suggest that out of fun
and fairness that half of it come -from the Town ref Mash-
pee and half of it come from John Umina. I don't know
how that is going to sit in the final analysis. Further,
the Board of Selectmen ultimately determines the layout.
It just seems fair that if we are going to' pave it in
a donative spirit, the town would give half of. it and
we would give half of it. In answer to your question,
Dick,' it' s about 70 feet.
Terry: Why don' t you get together. with Charlie Rowley and try
to suggest .wh.at the layout is going to be: . Are yjau
in a position to do that soon?
Umina: Bill Nye and Charlie Rowley.:h.ave .spoken .today and I
think they are both in agreement what has to be done.
Bill Nye agrees that he would stake out the road the
distance of, . I don' t know, I think it' s 4 ,or 500 feet.
Quite a ways beyond where we are going to cut in.
Terry: I would suggest that you proceed with doing that and
maybe some afternoon or something the Selectmen get
together with Mr. Rowley, yourself, Mr. Nye and see
what is going on. Maybe we can iron it out then. Is
