PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MEETING OF JULY 1 7 , 1989 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present : Chairman <br /> Robert Sullivan , Manuel Glickman , C . Ben Lofchie and .lane Stockbridge . <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 :00 p .m . <br /> Board members welcomed Jane Stockbridge as a new member 'to the Board . <br /> Bob Sullivan commented that it is hard to get, good people andathat he <br /> would have liked to have both candidates . b <br /> The .Board met with #Diane Rommelmeyer , 'Town Accountant; just prior to inter- <br /> viewing for the position - of a temporary part-time senior clerk in the <br /> Accounting Office . The job specifications were reviewed with the Account- <br /> ant , Diane advised the - Board that the person.hired will be sitting at the <br /> computer terminal doing` invoicesTand account numbers . ' She said that de- <br /> tail and the ability to proof work is important . The person would be do- <br /> ing data entry and putting vendor numbers into the computer . The position <br /> consists of under twenty hours weekly . <br /> Interviews of Fart-Time Senior Clerk <br /> The Board separately interviewed two candidates forthe position of a tem- <br /> porary part-time Senior Clerk to the Accounting Office : Carol Scott and <br /> Leslie Willis . Diane Rommelmeyer was present for the interviews . Back- <br /> grounds of candidates were reviewed . Candidates were advised of the rate <br /> of pay , hours of position and job duties . Applicants were advised that <br /> they would have to take a typing test which would be scheduled during the <br /> week . <br /> After the interviewing process , both candidate'swere still in consideration <br /> for the position pending the typing tests . Carol :Scott was .the Board ' s <br /> first choice because of her diversified background in the Accounting field . <br /> Leslie Willis being a Mashpee resident is also in consideration having some <br /> background with accounting. <br /> Note : Diane Rommelmeyer leaned strongly to hiring Leslie Willis after <br /> the typing test and Board members were poled by telephone and concurred . <br /> Annual Physicals , <br /> Board members were. advised of the problems of appointments not being kept <br /> during the annual physicals by the Police and Firefighters . D. P .W. would <br /> be scheduled in 'the Fall . To alleviate the problem , the Board asked that <br /> the three department heads involved in having their employees scheduled <br /> for physicals ( Police , Fire and D.P .W. ) come to a Personnel Board meeting <br /> in the future to give input on the subject . It was also suggested that <br /> the assistant check with the Town of Falmouth to in'quir',e where their em- <br /> ployees go for their physicals . <br /> Comp Time - E . McQuaid <br /> The Board reviewed a request from the Chairman of the Board of Health , <br /> George Costa , to approve the carry over of 80 .5 hours of compensatory <br /> time for E1ias . McQuaid . After some discussion , the Board voted to make <br /> an exception because of the unique situation of the department being <br /> , short-handed for many. months . Manny Glickman moved to make the exception <br />
