MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MEETING 'OF JANUARY 9 , 1989 <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for <br /> tonight ' s meeting : Chairman Robert Sullivan , C . Ben Lofchie <br /> and Ed Baker , <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 : 00 p .m . <br /> Personnel Minutes of Nov . 30 and Dec . 5 <br /> C . Ben Lofchie moved to accept the Personnel Board minutes of Nov . 30 <br /> and D'ec . 5 . Ed Baker seconded . All present were in favor . <br /> Employee Annual Evaluations <br /> The Board reviewed -the evaluation. of ,Deputy Cooper . The Assistant <br /> advised the .Board •that' it was sent to .the Board of Selectmen by Chief <br /> Frye . Chief Frye , who was present , replied that he did not realize <br /> that it should come to the Personnel Board for action . <br /> The Board also discussed the fact that the evaluations of the staff in <br /> the Selectmen ' s office , Joyce Mason, .Deborah Costa and Bea Horton , also <br /> went to the Selectmen for 'appro.val . a <br /> Chairman Sullivan advised the Board that a memo was sent to the Executive <br /> Secretary reminding him that evaluations of staff whose positions are <br /> classified under the Personnel Administration Plan should come before the <br /> Personnel Board for approval . He was also asked to fill out, the correct <br /> evaluation form as approved by the Personnel Board . <br /> Request of_Ann Henderson for Additional Information <br /> The Assistantadvised the Board that Ann Henderson was requesting addi- <br /> tional information from the personnel files regarding certification of <br /> Chief Ridgeway as an Emergency Medical Technician and C .P . R . rating . <br /> The secretary advised the Board that, copies of these documents were not <br /> in the personnel file . The Board asked that a letter be sent to Ann <br /> Henderson stating that we do not have copies of these documents but that <br /> was not to say that these credentials do not exist . <br /> Letter from Chief Frye - re : Dispatcher <br /> The Board reviewed a memo dated January 3 from Chief Frye recommending <br /> Benjamin Perry for appointment of Public Safety Dispatcher . He states <br /> that Mr . Perry ' s background investigation was very favorable _ The <br /> other candidate which the Personnel Board recommended for a background <br /> check , Ann Marie McIntire did not receive a favorable background check . <br /> Credentials regarding her high school diploma could not be verified . <br /> Discussion of Police Officer Vacancies <br /> The Board reviewed the vacancies in the Police Department with Chief <br /> Frye . They noted that the vancancy created by Paul Valeriani was filled <br /> recently by the appointment of Michael Lacava . A position funded last <br /> January is not filled presently . Candidates which were interviewed by <br /> the Personnel Board and being considered for this permanent position are <br /> William Paul Bryant and Kevin Redmond . Another candidate interviewed at <br /> that time , John Santangelo , is being considered as a Special Police <br /> Officer _ Background checks are currently being done . <br />
