All department heads of the Town shall <br /> prepare and submit to the Selectmen between January 1st <br /> and no later than February 1.5th of each year a complete <br /> inventory of all town-owned property for which their de- <br /> partment is responsible. <br /> Article IX. TOWN CONTRACTS <br /> Section 1. On all contracts for labor, materials, sup- <br /> plies, equipment, merchandise, or other articles wherein the <br /> amount involved is $500.0,0 or more, the board, department, <br /> committee or officials of the town in charge of the expen- <br /> diture of such money, shall be required to submit the award- <br /> ing of the same to public bid and no expenditure shall be <br /> permitted of $500.00 or in excess thereof unless the same ,).. <br /> shall have b en awarded upon public bid. - r <br /> ;. <br /> Article X. TRAN <br /> SPORTATION I'ORTATION REGULA <br /> TIONS - <br /> Section 1. No elected officer of the Town of Mashpee, <br /> except a member of the Board of Assessors and Agents of <br /> Boards and Inspectors, shall receive any compensation for <br /> transportation within the limits of the Town. <br /> Section 2. When any officer or member of any board, <br /> paid or unpaid, is called upon to go to any point outside the <br /> Town of Mashpee on official business connected with the <br /> duties of his office, he shall be entitled to receive pay on the <br /> following basis: If he travels by rail or by water, he shall <br /> be allowed the amount of his fare; if he travels by motor <br /> vehicle, he shall be allowed the rate of eight,(8c) cents per ;+ <br /> mile of travel. <br /> Section 3. Where it is necessary to transport by auto- <br /> mobile or truck any laborers employed by any department <br /> of -the Town, (a) the expense incurred shall be charged in as <br /> "transportation of labor"; (b) all charges for transportation <br /> of labor shall be made on the basis of so much per hour or <br /> per day for the actual time consumed by the conveyance in <br /> transporting the labor; (c) all expenses for transportation <br /> of labor shall be charged against the appropriation for that <br /> departmental work on which the transported laborers are <br /> employed. <br /> Section 4. Any automobile or truck employed by the <br /> town and carrying one or more laborers whose work is con- <br /> nected directly with the operation of the truck, or any ap- <br /> paratus or materials carried by the truck, shall be charged <br /> under "trucking" at so much per hour or day, and shall not !; <br /> be entitled to any additional charges for transportation of <br /> labor or materials. <br /> 8 <br /> i <br />
