} <br /> Section 9. Building Inspector. <br /> Para. 1. The Board of Selectmen annually,, and subse- <br /> quent to the annual Town Meeting, shall .appoint. a Building <br /> `$ 7 Inspector to hold office for the term of one year following, <br /> a and until his successor is appointed and qualified. <br /> Para. 2. To be eligible to appointment, the Building <br /> j' Inspector shall be generally informed as to the quality and <br /> strength of building materials, the prevailing methods of <br /> k{' building construction, good practice in fire prevention, the <br /> -accepted requirements for safe facilities, and shall .have a <br /> general knowledge of the installation of plumbing, electric <br /> ft� wiring, elevators and other installations for the safety, com- <br /> fort and convenience of occupants. He shall be capable of <br /> �! ! making the necessary examinations and inspections of build- <br /> ings in the course of construction. He shall not have any <br /> interest whatever, directly or indirectly, in the sale or manu- <br /> facture of any materials, process or device entering into or <br /> ' used in or in connection with building construction, and shall <br /> 1 ' not be engaged in the building trades on his own -account <br />� I or as a contractor. <br /> Para. 3. He shall be, under the supervision of the Board <br /> i ofSelectmen and he shall be subject to such rules and regu- <br /> y <br /> lations as they may prescribe for the proper conduct of this <br /> office. He shall submit an annual report in December of <br /> each year of his office for publication in the Town Report. { <br /> ' Para. 4. The person appointed Building Inspector shall r <br /> f° receive such salary or compensation as shall be fixed by the <br /> Board of Selectmen within the appropriation for the Build- <br /> ing Inspector. <br /> Para. :5. The Building Inspector shall make inspection <br /> { <br /> f- of all building operations covered by this code, and he may, <br /> ' for these�sr purposes, enter at all reasonable times upon the <br /> premises where such operations are carried on, and shall <br /> Y report to the Board of Selectmen all violations of this code, <br /> or of any permit issued. <br /> Para. 6. The Building Inspector in the name of the <br /> ! Town may take measures as public safety requires to carry <br /> these by-laws into effect. <br /> t ` <br /> t Section 10. Fees for Permits. <br /> Para. 1. Fees for permits under this shall be paid to <br /> r the Building Inspector for use of the Town in accordance <br /> E with the following schedule; (1) for single family dwellings <br /> f' with estimated cost not exceeding $5;000; $5.00 and $1.00 <br /> f ( additional for each $1,000 of estimated cost above $5,000. <br /> (2) for separate garage buildings: single car garage, $2.00 <br /> 3 ,i + and $1.00 additional for each additional car space per garage. <br /> 27 <br /> G , <br /> i <br /> LA, -- <br />
