The Town Planner reminded the Board that the concern for pervious surface is that it allows nitrogen/rain water to flow directly into the bays. Mr. Rowley questioned whether the required 4-6 inch layer of sandy loam in the retention areas works well as lie has seen areas that have dried out and after a heavy rainstorm washes materials from the slopes into the bottom and clogs. He suggested breaking up the large watershed areas into sinaller more manageable areas in order to control runoff at the site rather than carrying it to another point for discharge. Miscellaneous Board Items The Town Planner i-nade reference to a copy of an article provided to all Board Members, "How the City f lurts Your Brain" which relates to smart growth, and new urbanism. The article speaks to the importance of providing green space for emotional well-being. Mashpce Corrirnons, Traffic Issues There was brief discussion regarding the Mashpee Rotary area/Mashpce Commons build out, including'frout Pond, commercial/retail at Job's Fishing Road and East Steeple Street, There was also discussion regarding demographics. There was discussion regarding flexibility with regard to residential/commercial, issues of concern regarding traffic, parking, landscaping, and storm water runoff, The issue of boundary development at Trout Pond is a major consideration. Adjournment There being no further Planning Board business to address the Cliairinan entertained a motion to adjourn.
