Marie Stevenson, Dan Kupferman, Rolf Brandt, Richard Klein, Mohamad Zefzaf, <br /> Michael Moulis, Winnie Johnson-Graham, Ayesha Shafi, Aiman Igbal, Mohamad Fand <br /> Absent: Kim Landry, Gail Wilson <br /> Also Present: Lynne Barbee - Chair of Human Services Committee, Dan Rodrigues- School <br /> Committee Member, Lauren Surbey— Mashpee Enterprise <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chair Stevenson called the meeting of the Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee to <br /> order at 5:04P.M. <br /> LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT <br /> Today we acknowledge this meeting is being held on ancestral lands of the Wampanoag Tribe, <br /> also known as People of the First Light. We pay respects to their elders, past and present. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES — December 17, 2024 <br /> MOTION: <br /> Dan Kupferman made a motion to approve the meeting minutes as written. <br /> Seconded by Rolf Brandt. All in favor. <br /> MEMBER UPDATES <br /> Coalition <br /> Community organizations are fearful about the possibility of what could happen to our <br /> immigrant population. The Chair has attended meetings to prepare, remain aware, and be of <br /> support. <br /> There is a villainization of DEI that is important to note right now, it may or may not affect us <br /> as a Committee. There is a large misunderstanding of what DEI means, and that is fueling <br /> some of what we are seeing. <br /> Mr. Fand commented on issues that arise across the country and history, we will continue, <br /> DEI will carry on. It's like weather, we will deal with it. <br /> 1 <br />
