Town of Mashpee Sewer Commission <br /> t <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> Meeting Minutes of the Mashpee Sewer Commission <br /> Thursday, April 17, 2025; 2:00 PM <br /> Mashpee Town Hall -Wacluoit Meeting Room <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> *In-person and televised meeting* <br /> Present: Chair, Meredith Harris; Vice Chair, Alfred Towle; Commissioners Phyllis Sprout; Joseph Lyons; <br /> Mohan Nair, and Wastewater Superintendent,Jared Meader; Ashley Fisher,Water Quality Coordinator, <br /> and Clerk Catherine Castaneda (via ZOOM) <br /> Chair Meredith Harris called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. in open session. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. <br /> Chair Harris requested a moment of silence. <br /> Minutes <br /> Chair Harris requested a review of the March 20, 2025, meeting minutes and any changes or comments <br /> to them. Mr. Lyons motioned to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion seconded by Vice Chair <br /> Towle. Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> Public Comment <br /> No public comment. <br /> New Business <br /> Chair Harris welcomed Cody Erickson who is applying to the Sewer Commission. Chair Harris began the <br /> interview of Mr. Erickson and asked him why he would like to be a member of the Sewer Commission. <br /> Mr. Erickson answered that he moved to the Cape eight (8)years ago and met his now wife, Amy.They <br /> both live in Summerwood Condos. Mr. Erickson met Chair Harris through his wife, Amy's, business. Mr. <br /> Erickson stated that he has a passion for protecting the waterways and the environment while also <br /> being a surveyor for a Civil Engineering firm in Michigan for approximately ten (10)years. He learned of <br /> the engineering that was going to happen at Summerwood Condos regarding the project. He explained <br /> that he understands the costs and importance of many parts of the project that maybe some others may <br /> not. He went on to say that he felt a responsibility to build cities and towns responsibly. Ms. Sprout <br /> asked Mr. Erickson if he would be able to attend the meetings on a regular basis and Mr. Erickson stated <br /> that he would be able to. Chair Harris explained the current Sewer Commission meeting schedule but <br /> that once the Wastewater System starts,there may be a need for more frequent meetings, however, <br /> the meetings have never been more than twice a month. Vice Chair Towle asked Mr. Erickson about his <br /> current job and reiterated how important meeting attendance was. Mr. Lyons asked Mr. Erickson if he <br /> had read the Sewer Commissions 15-year-old plan. Mr. Erickson stated that he had not yet but wants to. <br /> Mr. Lyons suggested to Mr. Erickson to visit the Town of Mashpee website to see the plan that was <br /> accepted by the Town, County and State in 2015. Mr. Lyons went on to explain that the plan online will <br /> give Mr. Erickson a better perspective and understanding of the plan. Mr. Nair asked Mr. Erickson how <br /> he saw himself fulfilling the role of the interface between the Sewer Committee and the Town of <br /> Mashpee citizens. Mr. Erickson answered that his past experience as a surveyor is beneficial as he was <br /> able to see what was built, measure that it was correct and to see projects moving forward to a finished <br /> project and explaining the process and the steps to the Town of Mashpee public so they would be able <br />
