This project is proposed to improve stormwater runoff with
best management practices (BMP's) by capturing and treating the runoff that currently flows into the
pond from the road and parking lot. In the construction phase it is proposed the CPC contribute
$350,000. The Division of Fish & Game, Office of Fishing & Boating Access has committed up to
$350,000. To further support the $1.4 million project, the APCC is requesting grant funds in the Spring
2025 funding round from the Coastal Zone Management in the amount of $800,000. With anticipation
of the award the start of construction would begin in mid to late 2025.
The Community Preservation Committee recommends approval of Article 5 by a vote of 9-0.
The Select Board recommends approval of Article 5 by a vote of 5-0
The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 5 by a vote of 7-0
Motion made by Select Board Member Sherman
Motion: I move the Town vote to approve Article 5 as printed in the warrant, with the exception
of the phrase "or take any other action relating thereto'; and provided further that the funds
appropriated hereunder shall not be paid over as a grant to the Association to Preserve Cape Cod
(APCC) until APCC has received all other grant funds necessary for the project.
Motion passed 230 to 16 at 7:32PM
Article 6
To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer the sum of $13,000 from the Community
Preservation Fund 10% Historic Purpose Reserve in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L.
