Article 9 <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer the sum of $210,000 from the Community <br />Preservation Fund Budget for Appropriation Reserve in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. <br />Chapter 44B, §5, for the purpose of funding a grant for the LeClair Village Playground project, Assessors <br />Map 93, Parcel 6, Cooper Street including necessary expenses as related thereto, as recommended by <br />the Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee <br />Explanation: The goal of this project is to provide enrichment and quality outdoor space for children <br />and families. A sound play structure is planned for children ages 3-13 on a flat surface area that is <br />handicap accessible with parking on site for public access. <br />The project was initially planned, but removed from the scope due to cost constraints exacerbated by the <br />pandemic. A total of 39 units are constructed on the site for low to moderate income families. The <br />closest playground is difficult to access due to the lack of sidewalks in this area. When school is in <br />session there is no allowable access to school playgrounds. A private funding source has been identified <br />to contribute towards the project. <br />The Community Preservation Committee recommends approval of Article 9 by a vote of 7-1-1. <br />The Select Board recommends approval of Article 9 by a vote of 5-0 <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 9 by a vote of 7-0 <br />Motion made by Select Board Member Cotton <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to approve Article 9 as printed in the warrant, with the exception <br />of the phrase "or take any other action relating thereto." <br />Motion passes unanimously at 7:39PM <br />Article 10 <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer the sum of $59,500 from the Community <br />Preservation Fund 10% Historic Purpose Reserve in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter <br />44B, §5, for the purpose of funding the Chopchaque Cranberry Storage Barn Preservation Phase I <br />project; Assessors Map 23, Parcel 2, 0 Cranberry Lane including necessary expenses as related thereto, <br />as recommended by the Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Community Preservation <br />Committee <br />Explanation: The goal of this project is to conduct a historic preservation feasibility study on the <br />Chopchaque Cranberry Storage Barn. The project will ensure any preservation effort meets the Secretary <br />of Interior's standards for rehabilitation, as required by CPA funding. <br />The Community Preservation Committee recommends approval of Article 10 by a vote of 9-0. <br />PAGE 7 <br />
