This is a project of urgent nature, as erosion continues to worsen and threaten
the existing home, as well as jeopardize the existing abutting seawalls on either side of
the subject property.
• Property was developed prior to August 17th, 1978, and is thus grandfathered in terms of
having an armored coastal bank
• Proposed plan involves rebuilding of lower stone wall, establishing vegetation
stabilization for the upper portion of the bank, and construction of a vertical concrete wall
up to top of bank
• Agent questions the need for the concrete wall at the top of the bank in lieu of vegetation
stabilization as is proposed below this location
➢ Board of Health: No comment.
➢ Building/ZBA: The Project may require a building permit for a retaining wall. No
ZBA jurisdiction.
➢ DNR Harbormaster: I have no navigational or abutting concerns with the proposed
coastal bank stabilization and construction of a concrete retaining wall.
Documents provided: Merrill Engineers and Land Surveyors;Notice of Intent application and project
narrative; 12/23/24 Plan"Existing Site Plan'(exl); "Proposed Site Plan"(cl); "Sections through Proposed
Riprap"(0); (Plans by: Lala Associates Engineers,LLQ
COC
31 Fiddler Crab Lan, Prescott White & Adam Echart
➢ Representative: Merrill Engineers and Land Surveyors
➢ Request for Certificate of Compliance for Order of Conditions 043-3231
Commissioner Requests
• Commissioner requested review as-built plans and compliance statement before signing
Monitoring Requirements Clarification
14
