Town of Mashpee Sewer Commission t 16 Great Neck Road North Mashpee, MA 02649 Reorganization Commission has an opportunity to choose different officers (Chair, Vice Chair and Clerk). Nomination for Chair: Vice Chair Towle made the Motion for Chair Harris to remain. Ms. Castaneda seconded Vice Chair's Motion. Chair Harris accepted. Vote taken via roll call: Phyllis Sprout —yes. Catherine Castaneda —yes. Vice Chair Towle—yes. Joe Lyons—yes. Mohan Nair—yes. Chair Harris—yes. Nomination for Vice-Chair: Mr. Lyons voted for Vice Chair Towle. Ms. Sprout seconded Mr. Lyons motion. Wastewater Superintendent Update Mr. Meader stated that all five (5) Articles were passed without discussion. He also stated that the Mashpee/Wakeby project was moved to October Town meeting. Chair Harris stated that there was an addition of a full-time plumbing inspector now that the funding is there to do the inspections for the sewer attachments. Mr. Meader went on to state that he has a backup for his role as lead contract ops and that Amanda from Weston Sampson is a Grade 5 operator as a backup for the Operation of the Plant. Regarding "connection approvals"—when the Board approved the existing sewer area, that was the "approval" for the sewer connection (not additional areas, like accessory dwellings.) Chair Harris asked, since May 20, 2025, is the clean water test and then people get hooked up, when is the actual dirty water test? When will real wastewater be accepted. Mr. Meader stated that it can be as soon as that day. Mr. Drainville weighed in that it needs to be documented to DEP that the successful clean water test happened, so the Town emails as much to the DEP. When the clearwater test is done, they will walk through the plant with DEP.
