<br />FinCom-Regular Session <br />June 26,2025 <br /> <br /> <br />Greg McKelvey accepted the nomination for Clerk of the Finance Committee. <br />Motion Passed 4-0 <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Je?rey Pettengill, yes; Keith Machado, yes; Richard Weiner, yes; Greg McKelvey, yes. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Complete with Lee Smith and Mike Milbury <br />The committee welcomed recently resigned member Lee Smith and <br />expressed gratitude for her insight, consistent availability, and dedicated <br />service. Smith reflected on her three years with the committee, noting that <br />she had gained valuable knowledge about both town finances and broader <br />municipal issues. She expressed appreciation for the experience and <br />explained that she was stepping down due to other commitments. <br />2. Review, discuss, and approve any End of Year Transfers <br />N/A <br />3. Town Manager Updates <br />N/A <br />4. Meet potential candidate(s) to fill the vacant position on the Committee <br />Chair Je?rey Pettengill opened with a brief overview of the Finance <br />Committee. The Finance Committee primary responsibility is to review <br />warrant articles and prepare a report with recommendations for each Town <br />Meeting to assist voters. All members serve on a volunteer basis. <br />a. Dr. Anne L. Schnader <br />Dr. Ann L. Schnader introduced herself as an accountant with a <br />doctorate in accounting from Boston University. She has extensive <br />experience as a professor at UMass Boston, Bentley, and Su?olk <br />University. After recently retiring, she moved to Mashpee five years <br />ago and expressed enthusiasm to serve on the Finance Committee, <br />leveraging her professional skills. <br />On taking on town debt, Dr. Schnader indicated a cautious approach, <br />emphasizing the importance of making debt decisions that make <br />sense without unduly burdening taxpayers. <br /> <br /> <br />
