FinCom-Regular Session June 26,2025 She conﬁrmed she is able to participate in meetings via Zoom as needed. When asked what she expected to contribute and gain from the Finance Committee, she expressed a desire to learn more about the town while o?ering her ﬁnancial expertise and academic experience. She highlighted her ability to help streamline complex situations, reduce ine?iciencies, and balance competing interests to improve outcomes. When informed there were two candidates for the current vacancy, Dr. Schnader expressed interest in serving now or in the future should other opportunities arise. b. Stephen Kelley Stephen Kelley expressed a strong interest in serving on the Finance Committee, if not immediately, then in the future. He asked to be considered for upcoming vacancies and emphasized his desire to become more engaged in the community. Kelley moved to Mashpee full-time in 2021, having had a lifelong connection to Cape Cod. He had a long career in IT, including leadership roles in computer operations, project management, and infrastructure, and most recently he helped transition applications to the cloud and overhaul data systems. Now retired, he noted he has the time and interest to contribute meaningfully to the town. Kelley said he regularly attends Town Meetings, votes, and reviews the published reports and ﬁnancial documents. When asked about his perspective on town debt, he acknowledged the complexity of balancing essential infrastructure needs with the ﬁnancial realities of a diverse population. He raised questions about the maintenance of existing infrastructure, referencing past professional experience managing IT systems and maintenance budgets, and stressed the importance of long-term upkeep. Motion made by Greg McKelvey to recommend Dr. Anne L. Schnader to the Town Moderator to ﬁll the vacant position on the Finance Committee. Motion seconded by Richard Weiner.
