The event was successful <br />and received no complaints. He is now seeking approval to use the pavilion again <br />this year, with gatherings typically involving about 20 people and a keyboard player. <br />Motion made by Selectman Cotton to approve Music Worship, June 22,2025 (no rain <br />date) <br />Motion secounded by Selectman Richardson. <br />VOTE: 4-0 <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo-yes Selectman Cotton-yes <br />Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson-yes Selectman Richardson-yes <br />th <br />Social Justice Rally, July 13, 2025 (rain date July 12) – Bob Riche, Indivisible Upper <br />Cape <br />The Select Board welcomed Bob Riche, who has been holding politically oriented <br />rallies on the Cape. He emphasized the group’s commitment to peaceful assembly <br />and the exercise of constitutional rights and requested approval to hold the event on <br />the Mashpee rotary. Selectman Cotton expressed concern over the display of the <br />American flag upside down at a previous rally, which Riche explained was intended <br />as a sign of distress. Cotton, a veteran, found the gesture o?ensive but <br />acknowledged Riche’s right to free speech. Town Manager Collins advised that any <br />threats should be reported to the police and emphasized the importance of civil <br />discourse. Selectman Cotton also voiced safety concerns related to tra?ic at the <br />rotary, noting this is a general concern for any event held in that location. Riche <br />assured the board that participants are encouraged to stay back from the curb and <br />act respectfully. The Chair noted that there have been no prior incidents involving <br />this group. <br /> <br />
