Griener <br /> <br /> Representative: Cape & Islands Engineering, Inc <br /> <br />Project Overview <br /> Project involves removal of existing septic system, pump fill and abandon, install new <br />Title V I/A septic system with associated utilities and landscaping <br /> No increase in bedrooms or wastewater flow – remains a 3-bedroom system generating <br />333 gallons <br /> <br />Current System & Environmental Context <br /> Existing Title V system located at the back of the house, adjacent to Ashumet Pond, with <br />associated wetland bank <br /> Current leaching field positioned approximately 30 ft from the Mashpee inland bank and <br />70 ft from the pond <br /> Property has a natural heritage priority habitat designation affection vegetation <br />requirements <br /> <br />Proposed New System Design <br /> New septic tank and pump chamber will occupy the same general location as the existing <br />system behind the house <br /> New leaching field relocated 165 ft from inland bank and 200 ft+ from pond, completely <br />outside the 150 ft buffer zone <br /> System requires a pump station with a 150 ft force main to reach the new leaching field <br />location with a 20 ft elevation rise <br /> Two rows of sedimentation controls are planned for environmental protection during <br />construction <br /> <br />Environmental Concerns & Mitigation <br /> Secondary gravel path identified behind the house, not shown on the plans, causing <br />erosion and gravel buildup down slope <br /> Vegetation removal is required along the south side and through the natural understory <br />for the force main installation <br /> Azaleas and non-native plantings present in the area require replacement with native <br />species <br /> Nitrogen loading calculations confirmed to be below existing levels <br /> <br />Motion <br />8 <br /> <br /> <br />
