Select Board
Minutes
July 14,2025

four-story building. After receiving the project application, Comments from various town
departments and boards—including A?ordable Housing, Conservation, Human Services,
and Wastewater—were submitted following a site visit and were accepted by the Town
Planner through July 7. A formal response letter is due by July 29. There is a broad
consensus across town departments that Mashpee has a strong need for more a?ordable
housing, and locating this project within a sewer-serviced area is seen as a positive.
However, several concerns have been raised related to health, safety, and overall site
design. Select Board member Selectman Weeden highlighted the scale of the project and
questioned whether the site is suitable for a development of that size, especially given
concerns from the Fire Department about emergency egress and the ability to safely
address potential fires. Additional concerns include the location of the main entrance
across from First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union, lack of a designated playground or
recreational space, and limited open space—with some of the parking lot being counted as
part of the open area. These issues and comments are being considered as part of the
Town’s formal letter.
Authorization to Grant Signatory Authority to the Town Manager for State Revolving
Fund (SRF) Documents Related to the Mashpee-Wakeby Watershed Wastewater System
Motion made by Selectman Richardson to grant signatory authority to the Town
Manager for State Revolving Fund Documents related to the Mashpee-Wakeby
Watershed Wastewater System.
Motion seconded by Selectwoman Kelley-Willson.
Vote: 5-0
Roll Call Vote
Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo-yes
Selectman Weeden-yes
Selectman Cotton- yes Selectman Richardson- yes
Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson-yes
Discussion and Possible Approval of Select Board Statement Regarding Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Operations and Practices
The Town Manager informed the Select Board that, following consultation with the
Police Chief, there are currently no incidents in the Town of Mashpee involving Immigration
